Lake Powell was simply awesome I love to see my family, especially in a beautiful place like lake Powell. Unfortunately, I didn't pull out my camera at all because the battery was dead. I fear that when moving it got lost. So if you would like to see pictures I shall refer you to Kim, Cherise, Rebecca, and Angela's blog. (though they don't have any pictures up yet they will). In fact there were a few times where I used their cameras to take pictures so it counts right?
Billy and I got up early the fourth of July, and despite taking the wrong road we got there in about 3 hours. We threw our stuff on the boat and waited for the Ethington's and the Coleby's to arrive. I forgot how hot it can get there. I was absolutely dieing. I haven't been able to go since my Junior year of High school so I felt unprepair for the heat. This was also my first time going in charge of my own family, while packing I was beside my self what to bring. However I think we did OK. We didn't bring back too much of our food which I think is a sign of success.
Billy had a grand old time reading as much as he could when he wasn't out on the boat or swimming with our nephews and nieces. I enjoyed all the boating and swimming and I can't remember that last time I got to play pretend and be a mermaid. It was fun to hear Sammie and Carrie still playing the same game days later. Apparently they coaxed Jacob into being their 16 year old brother. While Carrie had a blast being 12.
Some of the highlights from the trip had to of been. Billy and Scott setting the beach on fire with the nice high fireworks. (Poor Craig thought is tent was on fire.)Aaron's first Birthday party. The hike up to our normal spot to see Craig's name in the wall that he carved the very first year we camped there. (Unfortunately nature had taken it's course and ride the wall of all names and marking that had been there before.) Watching Scott and Craig try to burn a bush for our campfire. (I don't think it ever fully burned.) Watching Sammie enjoy grandpa dunking her in the lake. The traditional Sunday boating trip where no one on the boat was less then drenched because of the storm we road into. And riding out to a cell phone service any time we had to see if Melissa had her little girl yet.
It was sad to leave early but I'm still happy that I got to go. I will miss being able to just jump in the lake when ever I get too hot. Sleeping under the stars every night, and just plane being with my family.
So for those of you who were wondering, I came back from Lake Powell and still had my job. I knew I would when I left as long as I went to work on Thursday. Working on Thursday was not the easiest thing to do however, as my world kept swaying back and forth for over a day. I would sit and look at my computer screen that kept moving and it almost gave me a headache. What I thought was interesting was I got more sea sick on land then I did on the actual boat

I'm glad that you had so much fun and that you were able to join us for as long as you did. The reason you didn't take home very much food is because you left a lot of it behind. When we were cleaning out the fridge, they were several items that we figured out were yours. Now they are in my fridge in SLC. It's funny that they day after we arrived home, everyone was talking about the swaying boat feeling. I figured it was because we spent a night on the bouy before we left, but you weren't even there for that.
THis is Mom, not Melissa. ==Sharon
Cindy, I had a lot batteries that you could have used!! I had a lot of fun with you. BOTHER, BOTHER, BOTHER ... Sorry I didn't get to do that alot in Lake Powell
Been a long time!! Hey check out my blog we have some great news!! I am not pregnant, so do not think it is that!! We were talking after your wedding and I have been meaning to tell you something. I was having trouble deciding whether or not to join the church because I just did not feel comfortable with the elders. And then guess what?!?! We got you!! You were there for my decision to be baptized and for all my lessons. Richard and I believe God sent you to us, so that I would know it was the right thing to do. And I thank him all the time for you and Lisa!!
Love lots and forever grateful,
Rhonda
